I will note that witnessing a death or seeing a corpse has become less common even for medical professionals. In the 1950s-1970s it was the case that nearly every person who died in hospital was autopsied, both to help learn the cause of that person's death, but also to help medical students learn. Now, it's just a small minority of deaths that lead to autopsy. At the same time, fewer and fewer people are leaving their bodies to science to be used as cadavers in medical education. As a result (and because there are more "virtual dissection" digital tools), many medical schools have abandoned cadaver dissection as part of anatomy class. So it is perfectly possible for a newly-graduated medical student to have never seen a dead body before. Depending on specialty, it's perfectly possible for a medical doctor to go through a whole career now and never see a dead body. I think that as even medical professionals become less familiar with death, we'll keep seeing more death denialists like Bryan Thompson.

So curious how Madame de Rhert died on the day she had indicated.

Also, yes to the medical directive! I'm looking into it as well.
